19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev secured his initial title for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid season, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's maiden championship following the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
Success also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 various tournaments.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters together, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, comprising in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and regular emotional displays on court had prompted some to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was over.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete positively, reinforced by an better serving game.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional championship, gained dominance to create a final set.
He rescued four initial opportunities in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the title with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
